Problem is, I'm trying to do it from memory and I haven't heard an old british phone for well over ten years. I'm still working on my 'old british telephone' midi ringtone, I haven't posted any updates because it still doesn't sound that much different to the one I've already posted I've got the 'ring' going a bit faster and I've muffled the bell sounds a bit but once transfered to the phone, it's really hard to tell the difference. Might be good to get that Motorola tone anyway, though Not sure about your motorola idea for reasons specified in several other posts on this board regarding the converting of samples / other sound formats to midi. Posted by for 'bumping' the thread back up the list mate but how do u transfer the sound cuz if u just record it, it`ll sound terrible! The polyphonic Motorolas have this vrit sound no more i think! Can some1 transfer it from a monophonic Motorola and make it a midi maybe?
Look, I have an ideea but I don't know how it might work: we might find a Motorola phone.
I will have a look at the ringer coil soon but it doesn't look too good. Just tried recording the ring - terrible! sounds like a rattle not a rlng. It's called 'standard mono ring (long and boring, you won't miss it)' Send me a PM and I'll give you my email address so that you can email the tone to me and I'll stick it on my siteįound a 'ring-ring' tone here, but it's still not what we're after! That way, you can post it here for people to download. If it does work for P900, you can put the tone on my website, if you like. I've searched bl**dy everywhere for a brit tone in midi format, I've only found it in realtone format so far don't think realtones work on sure about the sound quality, but it's worth a try! Problem is, you can't use recordings as ringtones on a T610, not sure about other phones though. Posted by the brit ring does sound more muffled, I'm trying to mess around with the midi instruments to get it more like the brit one I have an old bell phone which I can plug in and record using my P900.īefore I try this will the quality be OK? and will I be able to post it? the brit one is muffled and this one is not, seems to me like the fr4ench ring with a pause:-D I like it anyway, but i`ll search for the brit one as well -) Posted by taht`s old all right, but that`s not british. There was an excellent double ring one on the XDA2 but I don't have the phone now & have deleted my backups.
I'll get me tracker software going! Watch this space. Just enter the following address:Īs for the 70's trim phone ringtone, I'll have a go! It's a basic, high-pitched sound and so it should be possible to create a fairly faithfull reproduction in midi format.
I'll post updated versions of the ringtone in this thread as they appearĮDIT: I've just discovered that you can download the ringtone to your phone directly via WAP. You'll need a cable / IR / BT to get it on your phone, or use It's not brilliant as I'm still working on it, but you can download the first attempt from:
I've edited the single-ring US style old phone tone and made it into something that resembles an old UK style, two-ring tone. M8 if you talking about the old phone Midi i have it (and people were always impresonating !)įound a WAV file on web, but no MIDI.
I was thinking about the funny wabble that the designer trimphones used to have. Posted by you mean the old phone tune? you searched google? I know some of the Nokias have it available for them. Thanks all, it's polyphonic, I've already got the single ring one, it's the double ringer I need. Is there anyone out there that has a Midi for the old Trim Phones used back in '70's ? Search google for old phone or if you want i have it. I'd be very grateful for any help on this one Does anyone know where I can get a ringtone in the fashion of the old English telephone (two rings versus the single American one which comes as standard on the phone) - for the T610?
